Not at all. AutoVIN depends on individual vehicle ECU protocols. If AutoVIN skips your car, simply use the Manual Selection mode—all diagnostic and service functions will work perfectly. Meanwhile, please send your VIN to our support team; we will verify it and add it to our database in the next software update.
Please keep ignition on and engine off. Record freeze frame data first before clearing codes.
Persistent hardware faults need physical repair prior to code clearance.
Some fault codes of systems like SRS and ABS can only be cleared after finishing bi-directional tests.
Please check the following steps to troubleshoot:
- Check Vehicle Compatibility: Ensure your vehicle is covered by the EU MAX, please kindly refer to the vehicle coverage of EU MAX.
- Turn Off Power-Saving: Disable any eco/battery-saving modes on the vehicle that might shut down modules during diagnosis.
- Update Device: Update both the firmware and vehicle software to the latest versions.
- Check Ignition: Ensure the vehicle key is turned to the “ON” position.
Yes. The EU MAX supports a wide range of BMW generations — from modern G-chassis and F-chassis models back to most E-chassis vehicles. Pre-2001 E-chassis models (such as E30/E36/early E46) use a 20-pin round port and require the optional 20-pin adapter. For exact compatibility, please send us your VIN.
