QDo I need to set up or update the device before first use?

Most products are ready out of the box. Except for the CR V2.0 and CR V3.0, every device ships with software pre-installed for instant diagnosis — we just recommend registering to receive updates and support.

QAre software updates free?

Most iCarsoft devices come with lifetime free updates, with no hidden fees.

Flagship tablets CR Ultra, CR Ultra P and CR Legend include 3 years of free updates; CR Unicorn and CR Unicorn S include 2 years. After that, an optional paid renewal keeps you on the latest software — your device is never locked if you don't renew.

QI saw "This is not an iCarsoft product" during an update. Is it fake?

This usually means the wrong update tool was downloaded — re-download the tool that matches your exact model on the Software Updates page. To confirm a unit is genuine, send its serial number to our support team.

QMy vehicle has a secure gateway (FCA/Stellantis). Can iCarsoft access it?

Yes. CR Ultra, CR Ultra P, CR Unicorn and CR Unicorn S hold FCA Secure Gateway authorization, with more models in approval. Buy and activate access on the official FCA portal — see the FCA / Gateway Access page.
